The mother of Jesus and his brothers arrived at the house. Standing outside, they sent word to Jesus and called him. A crowd seated around him told him, "Your mother and your brothers and your sisters are outside asking for you." But he said to them in reply, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."
I find this Gospel today, awesome. The first thought I had was about my brethren in Christ. I messaged them and said I was proud to call them my brethren.
I believe this Gospel is a testament to God’s fatherhood, and the adoption into His family.
Notice how Jesus, when his mother and brethren seek Him, does not ditch those He is with for his “family”, but rather brings those around Him into His family.
Anyone, by doing the will of God, can be brought into this family. Let us seek to do the Will of God, so that we too, may be called brethren by Christ.
I love my brothers and sisters!
