So I just reread Ordinatio Sacerdotalis and, while I find myself very willing and able to accept the teaching out of respect for the authority of the Church and Magisterium, there's one line which—to me—just strikes right to the heart of the matter. It's what gives me that profound, ringing sense of truth, and the rest of the discussion sort of just clicks into understanding because of it. This is the line from JPII who again refers to Paul VI: "Moreover, it is to the holiness of the faithful that the hierarchical structure of the Church is totally ordered. For this reason, the Declaration Inter Insigniores recalls: 'the only better gift, which can and must be desired, is love (cf. 1 Cor 12 and 13). The greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven are not the ministers but the saints.'"

I'm planning to go but haven't sorted out the details yet. Barring some unforeseen obstacle I will be there. I would like to propose a trip to the Alps to read some Guardini by the shores of Lake Como. Only kind of joking...
